Team POLAR started in September 2019 with six students after the initiator, Wilco van Rooijen, brought the project to the Technical University of Eindhoven. After a year of hard work, the team came to several conclusions about the vehicle, the most important one being that doing sustainable, autonomous research on Antarctica is feasible.
In 2020-2021, the team has grown rapidly to 11 highly motivated with 3 different nationalities and 8 different bachelors/masters; leading to an extremely diverse and motivated environment in which innovation is constantly happening.
In 2021-2022, some members left but we gathered many more, expanding the team's efectiveness to 17, bringing even more diversity to the mix.
